Peppermint Spirals

I’ve always envied people who make cookies from scratch. They make them and they turn out delicious EVERY time! So I was really excited when I was flipping through our CK Products 2015 catalog and found so many different recipes! Here’s one recipe that I can’t wait to try out for Christmas. If you make this please let me know how it was in the comments.

Peppermint Spirals

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ teaspoon CK Peppermint Oil (42-580)
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • CK Squeeze Gel Color in Super Red (41-69416)
  • CK Pearlized Sugar Crystals – Red (78-507R)

Cream butter, gradually adding sugar, beating until light & fluffy.

Add egg & peppermint oil. Mix well.

Combine & add flour, baking powder & salt, beating just until blended.

Divide dough in half. Tint one-half with CK Squeeze Gel Color in Super Red (41-69416).

Cover & chill.

Roll each ball of dough into 16 x 8″ rectangles between sheets of waxed paper.

Invert plain dough onto red dough. Roll up both doughs together, beginning at one long edge.

Refrigerate overnight. Cut into ¼” slices. Sprinkle with sugar crystals before baking. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350˚F.
