Tried our Pantastic ® Pan- Ya I’m a fan now!

So this weekend was my cousin’s 30th birthday- and he just happened to be in town! Which made it a PERFECT time to try our Pantastic ® Pans! He likes dogs (and so do I) so I wanted to try our paw print one (49-9051)!
So let’s get started! I LOVE chocolate and if you haven’t tried our chocolate cake mix you are missing out. It’s super simple and the best cake I’ve ever had! All you need is:

Looking for a specific color? Use our white buttercream (77-803) and then check out our gel colors! Have food allergies? Check out our new TruColor™ Gel Paste. TruColor™ Natural Food Colors are made from fruits, vegetable, seeds, roots, and minerals!

Next is mix everything together! Simple right?

**Don’t forget to preheat your oven! Preheating your oven is one of the most important things when baking. If you don’t preheat then your times will be off and you might not get an even bake. For this cake, you’ll need to preheat your oven to 325℉. Also, note that for our Pantastic® Pans you cannot exceed 375℉.

Probably one of the most important things I’ve learned when making this cake (yes, this is actually my first time making a cake- ever) is you have to grease and flour the pan. Just simply take a stick of butter and rub it all on the pan and then dust flour- this will make it not stick to the pan! Which is key when it comes to these pans.

Fill the pan 2/3 full (the whole cake batter mix) and place on a shiny cookie sheet. Place in the oven and cook for about 30-35 minutes per the mix instructions.

Use a knife or a toothpick to check if your cake is done. When you dip it in the middle and comes away clean- it’s done. If it doesn’t then it’s not. I got a little too impatient and as you can see mine was not done when I checked it the first time. Don’t worry because that’s your bottom of the cake so it doesn’t need to look pretty.

Now the fun part! Wait 5 minutes after you take it out the oven and flip over on a cooling rack (I used a towel). Wait until the cake has cooled COMPLETELY before decorating.

Using a spatula (silicone is the easiest because it bends. Don’t have one? Check out what we offer!) spread your buttercream icing all over- yum chocolate! (Don’t forget to lick the spatula- that’s the best part! Just remember to wash it before you use it again, don’t want to spread those germs!)

Using your decorating icing, do little swirls around the grooves to make your design pop. Again this was my first time so don’t judge my decorating skills.

Viola! Now I must admit I was pretty proud of myself! And it was a hit for my cousin’s birthday!
